Paula's Soul Food Cafe was founded by Omar Bailey and William Joye, starting with their original location in the Bronx, New York, in May 2015. Recognizing a lack of traditional Southern comfort food in their own community, the African American-owned business expanded to a second location at 331 Main Street in Hackensack, New Jersey, on September 18, 2017, to bring classic family recipes back to their hometown.
